Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah demanded on Thursday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should present himself for accountability as the investigation of Panama Leaks issue was at his discretion.
While addressing an Eid milan party, Shah said that the PM himself stated that he was ready to be accounted and enquired. Shah wondered why the ministers were outraged after this decision of the prime minister.
Shah condemned the terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia and stated that those who carried out attacks in Madina could not be normal human beings. He said that the Islamic countries should understand that those who attacked the holy city were ‘beasts’.
The Opposition leader said those who considered that the war on terror was a battle associated only with Pakistan were mistaken. Shah said that the Islamic countries need to be united on one platform for fighting terrorism.
Khurshid Shah questioned that why instances of terrorism occurred in Pakistan, Turkey and Afghanistan, “why not in Israel and other countries.” He said the leaders of the Islamic countries need to come forward in order to defeat terrorism.
Commenting on the controversial statement issued by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Khurshid Shah said no case of treason shall be filed against Achakzai as no instances of such cases were found in the past.
The Opposition leader said that the Afghan immigrants present in Pakistan must return to their country. Responding to a query, he said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would make all his assets public after being elected as member of the Parliament. Service tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif was an internal issue, he said.
