Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Monday expressed resentment over the government’s failure to conduct a national census and directed the Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) to submit a report in this respect.

Taking a suo motu notice of the irresponsible attitude of the government, Justice Jamali wondered why the authorities concerned did not conduct census in 18 years.

The apex court will hear the case on July 15 for which notices have been sent to the AGP, Statistics Chief and other officers concerned.
