Salman Ahmad receives life threats, advised to leave country

Singer and ex-member of the dissolved iconic music band, Vital Signs, Salman Ahmad has been advised by police to leave the country owing to threat to his life for working relentlessly to eradicate polio.

Salman Ahmed defiantly said that he would  face the threats and would not leave the country.

Ahmad revealed that a police officer advised him to leave the country as he could be fatally targeted by terrorists.

The police officer said that the department has credible information in the matter, Ahmad told.

Salman Ahmed is not the first Pakistani artist to comment on the security being provided to the artists in the country.

A group of around 60 singers, actors and models belonging to TV and film industry led by ex-chairman Sindh Censor Board Fakhr-e-Alam, approached Defence police station in Karachi on Saturday to submit a request demanding security for all the production houses owing to adverse law and order situation in the metropolis.
