The government, semi- government and private offices of the federal capital on Friday witnessed very thin attendance as most of the employees hailing from other cities had already left for their home towns to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.

The government had already announced holidays from July 4 to 8 and the people belonging to far flung areas left for Eid as Saturday and Sunday were off.

Kaleem Abbas Sindhu who was working in the Ministry of Finance said that Monday will be the last working day before Eid holidays, but he is going to his hometown today because of the two weekly day offs.

When asked about the working day of Monday, Kaleem Abbas said that he got one-day casual leave from his incharge so that he could celebrate Eid with his loved ones.

Those who attended the offices on Friday remained occupied in discussions as to how to get a seat in coaches to reach their native towns in view of the great rush.

Another employee, Muhammad Rafique, who hails from Layyah, said his family had already left on Friday but he could not accompany them due to working day of Monday.

During a survey, it was observed that restive mood was prevailing in most of the offices and officials were seen discussing how to celebrate Eid.

Only locals who were the residents of twin-city were present in some government offices like Radio Pakistan, Associated Press of Pakistan and Pakistan Television.
