Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that funds have been provided in the KP budget for Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak under an agenda and the issue would be raised with Wafaqul Madaris.

Talking to media at the Parliament House after Friday prayers, he said the Indian government had offered a grant of Rs one billion to Darul Uloom Deoband which was rejected by the administration.

He said that situation in Afghanistan was not good that the refugees were sent back. He said every Pashtun has come from Afghanistan and his grandfather also came from Afghanistan. He said the government should take steps to keep the refugees in their camps.

He said the people of tribal areas were not being properly treated. He said the government was not issuing them CNIC and cards of a large number of people have been blocked.

He said NADRA Chairman had promised him that cards would be issued to those to whom he (Fazlur Rehman) would certify, but even that promise has not been honoured.

He said he neither demanded a resignation of the prime minister nor gave a suggestion in this connection. He said Panama Leaks has not been made into a huge issue the world over, but a lot of hue and cry is being raised in Pakistan over it.

He said he has no plan to go to the UK nor he has any contact there. He said he would not do the politics of container nor would he side with such people as it is not a profitable business. In a humorous mood, the Maulana said containers are used for transportation of animals.

He said Islamic Ideology Council is a constitutional institution and it was not appropriate to criticise it. He also criticised the Islamic programmes being telecast by various channels at the time of Sehr and Iftar saying that through these programmes, the religion has been made fun of.

Replying to a question, the JUI-F chief said they have not obtained funds for any of their religious institutions.
