Overseas Pakistanis ambassadors of Pakistan: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that overseas Pakistanis are ambassadors of the country and Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission has been set up to safeguard their hard-earned money.

He said that no one will be allowed to usurp the rights of Pakistanis living abroad or grab their properties. He said that there is a need for collective efforts to ensure the rights of overseas Pakistanis and to resolve their problems. The problems of Pakistanis living abroad will be resolved on a priority basis and they will be extended all out political, legal and moral help, he added.

He was addressing a high-level meeting today which reviewed the performance of Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission. The meeting decided to set up overseas police stations for helping Pakistanis living abroad.

The CM said that it is the responsibility of the government to resolve the problems of overseas Pakistanis and a commission has been set up for this purpose. He said that it has also been decided to establish overseas police stations to redress the grievances of overseas Pakistanis immediately.

He said that overseas police stations will be set up in the cities which have a large number of Pakistanis living abroad. The CM directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to immediately implement the programme of establishing overseas police stations. He said that after the establishment of overseas police stations, front desks will also be set up at airports to resolve problems of Pakistanis returning to the country.

Sharif directed that the cases pertaining to the board of revenue and districts should be decided on merit and justice as early as possible so that relief could be provided to overseas Pakistanis in the real sense. He directed that an effective strategy should be adopted for early disposal of cases regarding anti-corruption. Sharif further directed that participation of DCOs and DPOs of the districts concerned in the meetings of Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab should be ensured.

    I am an overseas Pakistani have over certain number of years made considerable investments in residential property so i may in future permanently reside in Pakistan.
    There is on going land issue problem with resident society (Lake City Holding).
