CCPO Lahore Capt (R) Muhammad Amin Vains has said that all available resources would be utilised for foolproof security arrangements on Youm-e-Ali, falling on 21st of Ramzan.
He was addressing a meeting of police department’s operations and investigation wings regarding arrangements for central procession on Youm-e-Ali, on Thursday.
He asked the police to conduct search operations in city areas especially the City Division, Shahdara, Badami Bagh, Lorri Adda, Bund Road, Afghan Bastian, hotels, bus stands and around railway station. He said that special attention should be paid to screening of the route of the central procession.
The CCPO said that over 5,000 police officials would perform duty on the Youm-e-Ali, and arrangements for parking had been made at Nasser Bagh for participants of the procession.
DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, DIG investigation Sultan Chaudhry, DIG Security Muhammad Idrees, SSP Operations Muntazar Mehdi, SSP Investigation Hassan Mushtaq Sukhere CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and other officials were also present.
