ISLAMABAD – Justice Khawaja remarked on Wednesday that there is no room in the constitution to establish parallel institutions.
A four-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Shahid M Siddiqui, on Wednesday resumed the hearing of the review petition regarding judges’ appointment case.
During the hearing, Justice Jawad S Khawaja remarked that the eight-member parliamentary committee did not have the status of parliament. Rather, he said, the parliamentary committee was answerable to parliament.
He said there was no room in the constitution to establish parallel institutions.
