Police and other law-enforcement agencies have failed to find any clue about Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s son Owais Ali Shah who went missing from Clifton shopping mall on Monday.
The Karachi lawyers’ community staged a strong protest against the kidnapping and non-recovery of Owais.
Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Allah Dino Khawaja has said that no phone call or message had been received from the kidnappers regarding the abduction of Owais. He said he contacted the intelligence agencies to track down Owais.
“The kidnapping of Owais is a high-profile case. We have sought the help of intelligence agencies,” Khawaja said while addressing a ceremony in Karachi.He said that no telephonic call or any demand had yet been made by the kidnappers.
He said an investigation into the matter was under way. He said the police and law enforcement agencies were trying hard to recover the victim as several suspects had been taken into custody from different localities.
The officer also criticised the local people for not filing complaints over continuous criminal activities in the metropolis.
Following the incident officers of Special Security Unit along with police started snap checking in the metropolis and at all its entry and exit points while security was also tightened at Super Highway and National Highway.
The security personnel had recovered the mobile data of SHC CJ’s son for further process. An eight-member investigation team of police was also formed to probe the matter.
