Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested three terrorists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and recovered explosives and electronic devices during a crackdown on Monday.
The CTD personnel reacting to an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of extremists, conducted operation in Makhdum Pur, Uch Sharif area of Bahawalpur.
During the crackdown, three terrorists of the banned LeJ identified as Javed, Maulvi Asif and Muhammad Tayyab were arrested.
The nabbed terrorists of defunct organisation had planned to target a shrine in Uch Sharif but in timely action of CTD helped foil the bid.
Explosive material, two electronic devices were recovered from the terrorists who were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
