The Andaz Apna Apna 2 director, Priti Sinha, and the daughter of the original film’s producer Vinay Sinha Priti Sinha has cleared some misconceptions about the upcoming film. According to The Indian Express, she said, “The film is not a remake of the original Andaz Apna Apna.”
Vinay Pictures produced the original film in the early 90s with Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the lead.
She further clarified that “Vinay Sinha has not sold the rights to Phantom Films or anybody else as reported by a section of media.” Andaz Apna Apna 2 still remains a Sinha family production.
The film will go on floors soon.

The original film, a comic caper directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, featured an ensemble cast of Aamir, Salman, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, Shehzad Khan, Viju Khote and Javed Khan, with cameo appearances by Govinda and Juhi Chawla.
Mehmood, Jagdeep, and Deven Verma also appeared in pivotal roles.
Now that we know the original will remain untainted, we can only keep our fingers crossed for the ‘sequel’ to do justice to it.
