Pak lays foundation of gate at Pak-Iran border in Taftan

Pakistan laid foundation of a gate at Pakistan-Iran border in Taftan area on Friday.

The foundation of two 30-feet long gates was laid during a ceremony which was attended by civil-military leaders and tribal elders.

Customs Collector Saeed Gadhaun, Brigadier Khalid Baig, Commandant Taftan Rifles Colonel Kashif Ijaz Chaudhry and Deputy Commissioner Chaghai Qadir Bakhsh Parkani laid the foundation of the gates which will cost around Rs 200 million.

The first-ever gate constructed at Taftan border by the Pakistan Customs shall not only serve to improve the country’s image towards visitors coming from Iran, but will also be used to improve security measures taken towards imports and exports being made from the border.

Addressing the media during the event, Brigade Khalid Baig said that the construction of the gate at Taftan border would prove to be an important milestone and would heighten Pakistan’s prestige.
