The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer over the bail matter of Anwar Zuberi in the Mudaraba fraud case.
A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, heard the bail matter filed by an accused involved in the Rs 69 million scam.
During the course of proceedings, NAB’s additional prosecutor requested the court to dismiss the bail of Anwar Zuberi since the Bureau had apprehended him after hectic efforts.
The chief justice observed that a total of eight persons were involved in the case while the Bureau had arrested only one of them. The court issued show cause notice to the investigation officer and adjourned the hearing till third week of July.
