A girl who married the man of her choice was burnt to death Wednesday (today) allegedly by her mother in Factory Area of Lahore.
17-year-old Zeenat had married Hassan some time back after leaving her house.
Recently, Zeenat’s mother Parveen contacted her and told her that she had forgiven her.
Parveen took her daughter back home, assuring that she wants to arrange a proper marriage function for her.
Early morning, both reportedly had an argument after which Parveen doused Zeenat in petrol and set her on fire. The victim succumbed to burn injuries at a hospital.
Police have taken the mother into custody and further investigation is underway.

Please don;t highlight Women violence cases in Pakistan alone. This phenomenon is much more in other countries but media reporting is not to the extent like here. These are still very segregated cases in Pakistan.
You are right Farhan, violence against women is global issue and it has badt effects on society but writer has right highlight the issue because it's not endorsed in Islam.
Honor killing is one of the most horrible issue of Pakistan. Women are abused on daily basis. There is need to change the mindset of whole society so that we could overcome ratio of honor killing in Pakistan. There is a big recent example of honor killing of Qandeel Baloch who was abused by his brother. Let the women live their lives in good manners at least, love marriage was not a big issue.

It’s fact that I have many complexes cause of my complicated childhood. It was one to have a girl that loves me a lot. I didn’t get this kind of girl till I got my job.
