ATTOCK – Eight unidentified bodies were found in the fields along Haji Shah Road, eight kilometres from Attock on Sunday. According to the police, a local resident had informed them about the bodies on telephone. District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Akhtar Abbas told reporters that the bearded victims, aged between 22 to 32 years, were probably killed at some other place around four days ago before dumping their bodies in the fields.
He said it seemed that they were not the residents of Attock district but no clue had so far been found about their identification, adding that the exact cause of their death could be ascertained after autopsy. To a question the DPO said apparently it was not a terrorist act and further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, the medical superintendent of the DHQ Hospital, where the bodies had been shifted for post-mortem, informed journalists that the autopsy of two deceased had revealed that they were strangulated. Some sources have claimed that the victims belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while tyre treads found on the scene suggest that a vehicle was used to dispose of the bodies.
