Majority of people say govt should designate parks for protests: survey

A vast majority of Pakistanis has said that the government should create parks for public to stage protest rallies.

According to a recent survey, a nationally representative survey of men and women sought opinion where should public stage demonstrations and rallies so that the general public did not face inconvenience.

In response, 75 per cent said that the government should set up and designate parks for protest rallies, while 24 per cent of them opined that parks should not be used for public rallies and one percent did not respond.

The study was released by the Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The survey was carried out among 1,884 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces from April 4 to April 11.
