Lawmakers of the joint opposition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly strongly criticised the violence of KP police against protesting nurses and demanded an early release of arrested.

Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, Awami National Party (ANP) Parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak, PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai and JUIF’s Provincial Information Secretary Jalil Jan said: “We condemn the baton charge and acts of violence against peaceful nurses of Hayat Abad Medical Complex”.

They said: “Every citizen has a right to raise his voice, but the brutality of KP police against the nurses was unjustified and against the traditions of KP”.

“There is no capacity in KP jails to arrest all protesters when everyone including professors, teachers, doctors, nurses and the representatives of local government are protesting against the attitude of provincial government”.

They demanded the PTI-led provincial government to release the arrested people and tackle the issue with dialogue.
