Lahore police showed excellent performance during the month of May 2016, by arresting 203 accused belonging to 86 gangs in Lahore. 214 cases have also been registered against them while more than 10000000 Rs was recovered from the gang’s members, while 1278 POs and CAs were also arrested in the same period.
According to details, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf directed the police officers to ensure the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP), utilise their energies in curbing the crime in the city and arrest the criminals involved in unlawful activities.
On his directions, all divisional SPs increased their efforts against criminals and showed excellent results during the month of May 2016 by arresting 203 criminals of 86 gangs who were involved in different heinous crimes, 147 POs, 1131 CAs included A&B categories were also arrested.
During the month of May, 395 cases were registered against 395 accused for having illegal weapons and police also recovered 04 Kalashnikov, 12-rifles, 26-guns, 347-revolvers and pistols, 02-carbine, 06-daggers and 2439 bullets from their possession.
During the action against drug dealers, 775 cases were registered, 785 culprits were arrested and 15kg of heroine, 254kg682grm of chars, 09kg553grm of opium and 6547 bottles of liquor were recovered from them. Moreover, 161 cases were registered against the gamblers and 589 accused were arrested and a recovery of more than 59,000 Rs was made.
In the same period, during the special crackdown, 502 cases were registered against 849 culprits for violating the law.
