Govt determined to provide security to experts working on CPEC: IG

The federal as well as the provincial governments are determined to provide security to the Chinese and other experts working on the projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja said this while talking to a 14-member delegation attending the 19th senior management course of the National Institute of Management (NIM), Islamabad. The delegation members called on the IGP at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Saturday.

They were briefed about the steps taken by the Sindh police with regard to maintenance of the law and order which resulted in decline in serious crimes including murders and dacoities. The IGP said that the federal and the provincial governments were determined to provide security to the Chinese and other experts working on the CPEC projects. He said that extra-ordinary measures were being taken by the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in this regard. The IGP also explained the recruitment policy in the police and provincial government’s approval for enhancement in package for the martyrs. He also informed about the setting up of model police stations and promotion of community policing.
