The opposition is working on “minus Nawaz formula” as they believe they cannot defeat the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the presence of Nawaz Sharif, PML-N MNA Talal Chaudhry has said.
Talking to Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami in his Channel 24 programme DNA on Tuesday, Chaudhry said that “the opposition is working on minus Nawaz formula and they have shown this mindset at this point in time when Prime Minister Sharif is having health issues”.
Talking about Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s style of politics, Talal said that Nisar was in a “political romance” with Nawaz Sharif and all reports that he had any kind of differences with the party leadership were baseless.
“Nisar’s politics begins and ends with Nawaz Sharif. He is the parliamentary leader of the PML-N in the National Assembly and all other ministers come after him in the hierarchy,” he added.
According to Talal, PM Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz overlooks only the matters pertaining to the PML-N and does not chair any session of the government. He said that PML-N leaders and members did give their inputs about the recently-formed media cell of the party.
Asked why Maryam Nawaz did not accompany her father for his open-heart surgery in London, Talal, while refuting reports that she was running the affairs of the government in the absence of her father, said it was the decision of the Sharif family that she would not leave Pakistan.
