QUETTA – The Balochistan National Party-Awami on Saturday filed a petition in the Balochistan High Court, praying for the postponement of census and house counting until the Afghan Refugees were stopped from participating in the survey, the flood-affected people were rehabilitated and the law and order improved.
The petition was filed by two sitting ministers Mir Asadullah Baloch and Syed Ehsan Shah. The petition said hundreds of thousands Afghan refugees were living in Balochistan for decades and a considerable number of population in nine administrative districts had migrated to neighbouring province and districts.
He said that a majority of population in two restive districts, Kohlu and Dera Bugti, has left their homes due to the ongoing military operation. Therefore, the prevailing law and order in the province did not permit census and house counting.
