A student of grade II died after being buried under the wall of a government primary school which suddenly came down on Saturday.
Police said that the students were engaged in routine academic activities, when a dilapidated wall of a government primary school, located in Khan Mai locality of district Charsadda, collapsed suddenly.
A student of grade II was buried under the debris of the wall and died. The body was later retrieved and shifted to a nearby hospital where it was handed over to his heirs.
According to reports, the residents of the area held a protest demonstration against the incident. They demanded of the provincial government and the education department for the reconstruction of the dilapidated school buildings, which pose a serious threat to the lives of the children, besides compensating the victim’s family.
