Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered for removal of the garbage dumped near the Rawalpindi Ladies Park.
Al-Barak Company has dumped the trash near the park, as the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has no landfill site to dump garbage.
The chief minister has also ordered for allotting a six-kanal area to the company to set up a landfill site.
Citizens and journalists had protested after the park, near the Rawalpindi press Club, was converted into a filth depot. A delegation of journalists had met Advisor to Chief Minister Sarfraz Afzal demanding removal of the trash from the park area.
