Rs800b gas projects underway to meet energy needs: Khaqan

Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said the government has initiated different gas related projects worth of Rs 800 billion to meet energy needs of the country.

He was addressing participants of the launching ceremony of the Universal Gas Distribution Company Limited in Islamabad on Thursday.

The minister said Pakistan would have surplus power due to effective policies of the present government by 2018.

He invited other private companies to come forward and get such licences as it would create an atmosphere of competitiveness in the market.
