The Pakistan Meteorological Department office has warned about very hot and dry weather ahead during the week all over the country.
The low-elevation agricultural plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh will be the centre of heat.
In Lahore, the temperature has been recorded as 40°C while Multan is witnessing scorching hot weather with 47°C.
Due to the continuity of sea breeze, the coastal areas of Pakistan will not experience any sharp rise in temperature. Day temperatures in Karachi will generally remain below 40°C; the wind will continue blowing from the sea with variable speed along with the comfortable level of humidity.
The temperature in Larkana would rise to 51°C whereas Dadu will observe 50°C today.

Hot weather in mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will also rise by 4-5°C above average resulting in rapid melting of snow and glaciers.
Meteorologists predict that the heat wave will last for another couple of days as there are no imminent signs of rain.
Keeping in view the intense heat and dry weather, the public should take care of heat stroke and dehydration as advised by health authorities.
On the other hand, power outage duration has increased as electricity shortfall reached 3000 MW.
