Police foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of weapons in Tarnol area outside Islamabad late on Sunday night and arrested two accused.
According to police sources, weapons and ammunition were being smuggled to Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through a vehicle. Police deployed at the Tarnol checkpost stopped a suspicious vehicle and upon search a huge quantity of weapons was recovered.
Police sources said that three kilogrammes of hashish was also recovered from the vehicle.
