The role of the government in promoting socio-economic development of a country is of paramount importance as it is the socio-economic development that enhances the productivity of a state at major levels. Keeping this in mind, the incumbent government initiated many projects and set an example in the history of the country by saving 215 billion rupees in different projects. Although the saving of 78 billion rupees in Orange Line Metro Train project, 39 billion in Balloki Power project, 37 billion in Bhikki Power project, 34 billion in Haveli Bahadar Shah project, 16 billion in Metro Bus and other miscellaneous projects and last but not the least 11 billion in Solid Waste Management project all are great achievements of the government but it must acknowledge that the real development is about transforming the lives of people, not just transforming economies. The government must also realise the fact that no country can really develop unless its citizens are educated. Since corruption is the enemy of socio-economic development and good governance therefore, the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective as well. Only words will not do anything until they are followed by actions.
