Street Offence

Metropolis Karachi is confronting excessive woes and inconveniences owing to the negligence of our politicians. Karachi is one of those cities of Pakistan which is the hub of the economy but is facing manifold problems like terrorism, load shedding, traffic jams, and child abuse and among them one of the critical issues is street crime the laws against which need a dire implementation. Street crime has made the citizens restless since people are too scared to come out of their homes for shopping or for any other enjoyment – especially since pedestrians and commuters are always the victims. According to the news report, from 1 April till today 1500 cars have been stolen, 1800 motorbikes have been stolen and 3700 mobile phones have been pinched. It is heartrending to say that CCTV cameras are not operating properly in which nobody knows who the foe is.

I urge to the Sindh government – particularly CM of Sindh, Qaem Ali Shah – to take solid steps to facilitate the Sindh police so that street crime can be curbed.
