Teenage girl raped to death by fake pir in Burewala

A mentally-disabled teenage girl was raped and tortured to death by a fake spiritual healer (pir) on Wednesday.

According to police, Bhagan Bibi, wife of Muhammad Yaseen Jatt, hailing from Chak No 56/12-L of Burewala, took her 16-year-old mentally-disabled daughter named Sara to a spiritual healer five days ago. The girl was allegedly raped and tortured to death by the fake pir.

The accused, identified as Pir Jindwada, told the mother of the victim that the girl was under the shadow of giants and asked to bring her to his dera as the spiritual process takes four days to make the djinn go away.

The woman along with her daughter went to the residence of the fake spiritual healer where he kept them in separate rooms, and continued to rape and torture the girl for four days in the name of dealing with the djinn. The girl died on the fourth day.

The parents of the victim brought the body of the girl to the village and buried her late in the night after performing religious rituals. The villagers asked the parents to report the matter to the police but they refused to do so, declaring it the command of Allah.
