LAHORE – A wet spell in northern parts of the country helped water reservoirs increase water above dead levels on Wednesday as a data release by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) indicated that water level in the Tarbela Dam rose 0.14 foot above its dead level of 1,378 feet.
Official figures showed that water level in the Mangla Dam was witnessed 48.50 feet above its dead level of 1,040 feet while in the Chashma Dam water level was recorded three feet above the dead level of 640 feet. Similarly, water level in Indus, Kabul, Jehlum and Chenab rivers also witnessed a positive growth as the data showed that water inflows in Indus River at Tarbela were recorded 30,800 cusec while outflows were witnessed 30,000 cusec during last 24 hours.
The data showed that water inflows and outflows in Kabul at Nowshera were recorded same 30,500 cusec while Indus at Chashma inflows and outflows were recorded at 41,900 and 27,000 cusec respectively.
