Police have sent DNA samples of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imran Babar Jamil and the victimised girl to the laboratory for tests in a rape case, local media reported on Friday.

DSP Imran Babar was accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in Kahna area and was taken into custody on Thursday.

The police officer had pleaded not guilty to the crime after he was presented before judicial magistrate’s court in Model Town. The court had sent the alleged culprit on judicial remand.

The family of the alleged victim is insisting that the DSP violated the girl.

Reportedly, the accused police official was seen wearing badges of an Inspector General (IG) numerous times in the past.

While talking to media on Thursday, the accused said that the victim levelled false allegations against him as he got a phone call from a girl who requested him to help her and her sisters.

He said that the girl told him that there is a motel at Kalma Chowk where indecent activities were being held. He said that he went there as a civilian and asked for a room to investigate the incident.

Six to seven girls came in front of me and the waiter asked me to choose one, he added.

However, he pleaded innocence in the case. DSP Jamil termed the incident a conspiracy against him.
