ISLAMABAD – During a hearing of the missing persons’ case on Wednesday, Justice Javed Iqbal said it was government’s responsibility and not Supreme Court’s to recover these people whereas 222 missing persons had been traced due to the apex court’s efforts.
According to a private TV, Justice Raja Fayyaz asked why this issue has not yet been raised in the parliament.
Moreover Justice Fayyaz ordered to submit complete details of the dead bodies found so far.
Defence of Human Rights chairperson Amina Masood Janjua, who has been campaigning for the release of detained persons, including her missing husband Masood Janjua, said no parliament member was willing to step forward to raise the issue in the parliament.
Justice Javed said that people blame judges of speaking up to much, but they would not keep their quite for too long.
“There are boundaries and limitations of all institutions and we can only proceed to a certain point,” he added.
Justice Javed directed interior ministers of all four provinces and federation to appear before court on next hearing.
