The Foreign Office has said that the proposed sale of the F-16 aircraft by the United States to Pakistan is still under discussion between the two countries.

Commenting on media reports regarding the cutting of subsidy on the sale of the aircraft by the United States in the wake of alleged meek efforts by Pakistan against terrorists, Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakariya said that coordinated efforts were needed at international level to tackle the menace of terrorism and that the responsibility to eliminate terrorism could not be placed entirely on one country.

The spokesman said that Pakistan and the US are closely cooperating to fight the menace of terrorism and the provision of F-16 aircrafts to Pakistan will enhance the country’s anti-terrorism capability.
