Four more children die of famine in drought-hit Tharparkar on Friday.

An outbreak of water borne and food shortage diseases continued to claim lives in Thar as children suffered deprivation of food and water in Mithi while the relief activities in the area have not been launched by the local government.

The death tally has been mounted to 244 while hundreds of other children are under treatment at various hospitals in Tharparkar and Mithi.

The Sindh government is resorting to mere announcements while death toll in Tharparkar is rising as four more minors died at Civil Hospital Mithi.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had formed a committee comprising of Information Adviser Maula Bux Chandio and Food Minister Nasir Shah to look into the situation of Thar but to no avail.
