A petition has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for obtaining the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his alleged involvement in offshore assets and accounts.

The petitioner Kaisar Jadoon in his petition filed through his counsel Saif Ullah Sarohi took the plea that the national economy is being affected adversely due to the appearance of the name of PM Nawaz Sharif in Panama Leaks. He said that orders should be issued for holding a referendum to solicit public opinion on the matter of obtaining resignation from PM Nawaz Sharif. Orders should also be issued for taking action against the owners of offshore companies as revealed in the Panama Leaks and money siphoned off to off shore companies should be brought back to the country, he pleaded.
