PML-N LG candidate guns down wife’s brother

A member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) shot dead his brother-in-law near the sessions court on Monday over a family dispute.

According to details, Hashim Khan, 45, had come to the family court with his sister Ishrat who had filed a divorce against Rizwan, a PML-N candidate for chairman’s seat in the local government elections. Rizwan reportedly shot at Hashim after a brief argument, injuring him seriously. He was taken to Mayo Hospital but he could not survive the bullet injury.

Separately, police found the body of a man from Zeenat Block area of Allam Iqbal Town.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Khawaja Kashif, an assistant building inspector of Tehsil Municipal Authority deputed in Nishter Town. Police sources said that Kashif was a chronic gambler and had reportedly went to a gambling den with his friend Qadeer on Sunday. Investigations are underway to find the cause of the murder.

Another dead body of a15-year-old boy identified as Shoaib was found near Sagian Bridge. Shoaib disappeared on Sunday evening and his relatives had lodged a missing person case in Nolakha Police Station.

Also, Ghaziabad police has seized three kilogrammes of fine hashish in a raid and arrested two drug dealers; Rehman Pathan and Amir Ikram, from the spot.
