A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of petitions against Muttahida Qaumi Movement(MQM) Chairman Altaf Hussain till April 25.
The bench headed by Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi heard three identical petitions filed by Malik Maqsood Ahmad Awan, Aftab Ahmad Virk and Abdullah Malik for proceedings against Altaf Hussain under Article 6 of the Constitution due to his anti-Pakistan and anti-armed forces speeches.
During the hearing, Altaf Hussain’s counsel Asma Jehangir submitted her written arguments with a request to recall stay on broadcast of Altaf’s speeches.
The court handed over copies of the written arguments to the petitioners’ counsels and directed them to file replication in the matter till April 25 while adjourning the further hearing.
