ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) should be welcomed in Punjab for playing a role in the national mainstream.
Talking to the state-run Pakistan Television, the information minister said that the government wanted to maintain a political environment where all parties could work to solve the problems of masses in accordance with their manifestoes.
She said, “The hearts of people cannot be won by mere words rather practical measures are needed for their welfare.” She said that all the political parties should welcome the MQM in Punjab and PPP would support any party that will come forward to solve the problems of the people.
