Fruitless dengue campaigns

Winter is about to go and the season of hocus pocus will be start again across the Punjab. Sundays of all employees of education and community development department will become working days, as all of them would be deployed to halt dengue from coming to the Punjab. Arms to combat dengue virus and mosquitoes would be mere slogans written on the banners. Special walks will be organised as protest against  ‘Aedes aegypti’ mosquitoes. In a country where 40 percent of the human population is unable to read and write, it is expected by higher authorities that mosquitoes can read their English and Urdu slogans written on the banners. It looks like government’s sole motive of this exercise is to tease their subordinates rather than taking practical measures. If government is serious about health of masses it should equip all the staff with necessary sprays and focus on cleanliness rather than banners for point scoring. Mosquitoes will not read banners as long as humans are illiterate.

  1. govt has deployed her employees to utilize their effectiveness for illitrate masses.Instead of conspiring, they should be part of campaign affirmatively..

  2. Well, that was a pretty fascinating read, not going to lie. I really hope you continue to write about dengue. Probably one of the more informative pieces I've read on this subject. Thanks!
