Recently a 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook different parts of the country including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunka, Gilgit-Balistan and Azad Kashmir. It killed five people and more than 50 were wounded. In Punjab, many cities were jolted including Lahore. If we see in past, our country has suffered a lot from earthquakes. In 2005, the earthquake killed more than 73,000 people and 3.5 billion became homeless in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunka. Then in 2013, the areas of Balochistan were jolted and 370 people lost their lives and 100,000 became homeless. In last year again earthquake shook Khyber Pakhtunka and more than 500 people died and thousands were homeless. Millions of people are living without shelters but still Disaster Management Authority failed to provide them with shelter. They were given just a small amount, in which they spent it for their foods and were failed to build houses. It is government responsibility to provide funds for the victim people that they would live like other citizens of the country.
