The Punjab government has decided to construct children hospital on the land adjacent to Benazir International Airport (BIA).

According to media reports, the Punjab government has sought 77 acres land from CDA on the confluence of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to build the children’s hospital.

Sources said that matter related to lease of this land – between CDA and allottee is pending hearing in the court since long. No final decision has been given by court so far.

The allottee claimed that this land was allotted to him for construction of brick kiln. However no decision from court has come so far in this case.

The allottee had filed application with CDA seeking change in lease trade in connection with construction of residential colonies. However the civic agency had not changed trade of the lease. Therefore, the allottee approached the court.

The allottee after losing case in subordinate courts had filed petition in Supreme Court (SC). The case is pending hearing in the court.
