India beat Pakistan by 5-1 in Azlan Shah Cup

India beats Pakistan by 5 -1 in a pool match after which Pakistan has been knocked out from 25th Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament which is being held in Malaysia this year.
The match started at 3 pm (PST) and India took an early lead against Pakistan with 2-1.

Since the inaugural tournament, Pakistan and India have faced each other as many as 13 times. Out of the total Pakistan defeated the arch-rivals four times while green shirts were subdued eight times.

One of the 13 matches ended in draw.

Pakistan has played matches against Australia, Canada and New Zealand in the tournment so far, winning only one against Canada one to three on April 6 .

Seven teams take part in the annual event and each team plays six pool matches.

Matches for fifth and sixth positions will also be played in the tournament. According to the schedule, final match will be played on April 16.

Pakistan has won Azlan Shah tournament thrice earlier, 1998, 2000 and 2003. The greens ended up runner-ups as many as six times in the past.

The last installment of the competition in 2015 was won by New Zealand.
