Hotline contact between Director Generals for Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan and India was established on Sunday in the backdrop of ceasefire violation by Indian Army on night 9th and 10th April 2016, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) reported.
According to ISPR, issues related to subject ceasefire violation across the line of control were discussed.
Pakistani DGMO protested against the unprovoked initiation of fire by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC).
Earlier on Saturday, Indian troops on the Line of Control resorted to heavy unprovoked firing and shelling in Neza Pir sector.
“Unprovoked firing which started at 2340 hrs last night lasted till 0445 hrs early morning,” the ISPR said.
Pakistan Army troops befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing and shelling, it added.
No loss of life or property damage was reported in the incident.
Exchanges of fire are common along the tense and heavily guarded Line of Control in Kashmir, which is divided between Pakistan and India.
