KARACHI – Pakistan have pulled out from the Asian Under-21 Snooker Championship, schedule to be held in Keish Island, Iran from April 9 to 14, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced here on Saturday.
“We are pulling out of the Asian Under-19 Snooker due to lack of funding from the Pakistan Sports Board and Federal Sports Ministry,” President PBSA Alamgir Shaikh told a news conference at Karachi Club along with PBSA official Munawar Shaikh and Secretary KC Yousuf Salman.
He said the sports ministry assured PBSA Rs 250,000 for the trip but despite repeated requests and phone calls to the Federal Sports Minister and Secretary Sports, the grant was not released.
