Pakistan’s hockey team beats Canada by 3-1 in Azlan Shah cup

Pakistan thrashed Canada by 3-1 in the first match of 25th edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup here on Wednesday in Ipoh, Malaysia.

 

Mohammad Qadir scored two goals in the first half of the match.

 

Richard Holdreth reduced the deficit in the 48th minute before Mohammad Tousiq converted a penalty corner to give Pakistan a 3-1 lead over Canada.

 

Pakistan maintained the lead till the end and won the match. In the next two encounters, India will take on Japan before New Zealand clash with the host nation.
