Indian Sikhs arriving in Pakistan for Besakhi Mela

The first batch of Sikh pilgrims will arrive on April 12 at Wagah railway station from India by a special train to participate in Besakhi Mela.

On arrival at the Wagah border, pilgrims will be welcomed by Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman, officers and members of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee.

This was stated by Evacuee Trust Property Board Chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq while talking to media here at the ETPB office after chairing a meeting on Besakhi Mela arrangements. Secretary ETPB Javed Bashir, Additional Secretary Shrines Khalid Ali and other office bearers of the board were also present on the occasion.

He said that all arrangement had been made for provision of best possible facilities to the pilgrims and air-conditioned coaches had also been arranged for senior citizens and special persons.

He said that fool proof security arrangements have been ensured as more than 2500 pilgrims are likely to attend the ceremonies.
