Sharif urges unity to wipe out terrorists, their facilitators

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday the entire nation will have to fight the war unitedly for eliminating menace of terrorism, and vowed that terrorists and their facilitators will be eliminated and defeated by utilising all-out energies. Addressing a police darbar at Elite Police Training School in Badian area, the chief minister said that besides terrorists, those facilitating them for targeting innocent citizens, women and children also deserved deterrent punishment and no leniency would be shown to them.

Sharif asked policemen to fight bravely against terrorists and purge the motherland of them. He also asked them to pledge on this day that cowardly beasts would be eliminated at every cost.

The cabinet members, chief secretary, inspector general of police, home secretary, secretaries, senior police officers, heirs of police martyrs, intellectuals and columnists attended the function in large numbers.

Sharif, while administering oath to participants of the police darbar, said, “I promise I will utilise all-out energies for the protection of citizens. I promise that I devote my life for the protection of sisters, daughters and brothers of the nation.”

All participants took oath with the chief minister. He said that he had personally seen the Gulshan-e-Iqbal tragedy and could not express that scene in words. He said that terrorists killing innocent citizens did not deserve to be called humans. Sharif said that he was participating in this function with a heavy heart, adding that he had seen the burnt dead bodies of children and crying sisters.

He said that every person was grieved over this tragic incident where in the evening of Sunday, after Maghrib prayers, a beast killed many innocent children having toys, chips and toffies in their hands.

Sharif said that he would never forgive these beasts and pledge to chase them till his last breath.

He said that “police jawans have to support him and we will not let these beasts kill innocent children”. He said that officers and jawans of Pak Army, their children, officers and officials of police, security agencies and civilians have rendered sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He also said that “our brave army has broken the back of terrorists through operation Zarb-e-Azb”.
