LAHORE – Students of the University of Punjab held a rally against the possible dissolution of the Higher Education Commission on Friday.
Students gathered at Gate No 15 and marched up to the campus underpass holding placards inscribed with slogans against dissolution of HEC. Students, mostly from the Institute of Communication Studies, said that it was quite unfortunate that the government was dissolving HEC.
They said that now fake degrees would prevail everywhere. Students said that they would hold mass protests if the government did not revoke its decision. Students have launched an SMS campaign against the possible dissolution of HEC.
The campaign has gained momentum over the past couple of days.
