The government has no plan to give parliamentarians over PKR 300 billion for their constituencies, Finance Minister Dar clarified on Saturday.
He pointed out that any such move would be a violation of the Supreme Court’s orders and drain resources.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has not instructed me or the finance ministry to allocate funds for parliamentarians’ schemes,” Dar said.
He added that stories that Premier Nawaz had asked him to give Rs1 billion to each parliamentarian for development in his or her constituency ‘a hoax’.
