The Punjab government has stopped recruitment process of paramedical staff and ward boys on vacant seats in the allied hospitals due to ‘political interference’.
A senior official in the Punjab government has reportedly taken notice of the political intervention and violation of merit in the hiring process and has ordered to stop the recruitment process till further orders, a source in the health department said.
According to the source, the recruitment will now be made according to a new policy. The hiring was being made on more than 100 vacant seats of paramedical staff and ward boys in the Holy Family Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi.
According to the source, over 3,000 applicants had applied for the vacant posts, however, only the blue eyed ones were considered for induction on the pressure of the local political leaders.
The induction was stopped after a senior provincial government official took exception to violation of merit.
The source said that a new date for start of the hiring process will be announced soon.
What a shame ! I did not write anything wrong. Only said that there should be no political interference in the Health services.
